Party for seven days in space, French astronaut Thomas Pesquet has shared his experience for his first press conference , he explained that at take-off, “you feel the acceleration increases up to the separation of the first floor or the one is really crushed, and when the first stage separates, there is a feeling of slowing down. One has the impression that one falls, it is impressive (…) and after a while everything stops, it’s like a kick to the buttocks, is injected into orbit and this is the time when everything starts to float in the cabin”, tells the story of Thomas Pesquet.
The astronaut added that the third day of the departure, this was the rendezvous with the space station, it was “a moment of emotion when we see it emerge in the sky, because it is awesome, this is really science-fiction (…) and then the AIRLOCK opens and we find our friends and colleagues, and this is the beginning of the adventure. All the world feels really good, to work in weightlessness, it really is really natural after a few hours we are heading”, finds the astronaut who will stay 6 months in space.
