Persistent rumors for some time lent to LG intends to invest heavily in OLED displays to meet Apple. Now we learn that the manufacturer is preparing to unveil a new type of panel at CES 2015 which is to open this January 6 in Las Vegas. A prototype 18-inch format so flexible that it could be rolled up like a scroll.
LG is not the only one working on rollable displays. Samsung has been a pioneer in this field with its prototypes in a video released in 2013 and which were the subject of patents filed late last year in the United States. But the group has not released any smartphone equipped with this technology.
LG will also enjoy the American show to launch a new range of televisions Super UHD as seen in the image below
There are four models and HDR 4K: the UH9500 65 inches, the UH9550 86 inches, 65 inches in the UH8500 and in 75 UH8550 inches.
Two of them should be given special attention: UH9500 and UH9550. They will be equipped with an IPS panel technology that embeds True Black Panel, minimizing glare, and Contrast Maximizer, which gives more depth and contrast to the image. With HDR Plus, they can stream content with 4K HDR look better. Pricing and release dates have not yet been disclosed.
