The 7.0 version of Android, called Nougat, is available from Monday on Nexus devices. Other smartphones should receive in the coming months.
The new version of Android is there. Presented in March by Google, Android 7.0, nicknamed Nougat, will initially equip devices in the Nexus range, as indicated by the Web giant in a blog post. Smartphones and tablets from other manufacturers should receive this update in the coming months. The LG V20, which is due out on September 6 will be the first smartphone to run natively with Android 7.0.
With this new version of Android, provided with “250 major new features,” Google wants facilitate the user experience. Android Nougat will for example to run two applications simultaneously on the same screen. It will be possible to reply to a message in a notification without having to open the application. Nougat Android also promises improvements regarding 3D graphics and the addition of 72 new emoji the 1,500 existing ones.
Google says in its blog post that updates Android Nougat will be scheduled every three months in order to provide “continuous improvement”, while previous versions were updated more randomly. A first set of Android update Nougat is already announced for the autumn.
Android succeeds Nougat Marshmallow, nickname given to the 6.0 release last October release. Google also would work to develop a new operating system called the Fuchsia. It would be a priori thought for connected objects.
