After the failure of Galaxy Note 7, whose battery exploded because of a defect in the design, Samsung needs to innovate the most possible for its future smartphone top-of-the-range, the Galaxy S8, expected in 2017.
Among the rumors recurring on the new “flagship” of Samsung, there’s a smartphone to the screen without a border. A source of Bloomberg seems to confirm definitively this innovation.
A screen on the phone and not the button ” home “
According to the source of Bloomberg, the slab of the screen of the future smartphone top-of-the-line of the south-Korean company is expected to cover the entire front of the device. An innovation that should be the order of the day for other manufacturers, the trend towards the disappearance of the screens with the edges for a more minimalist design.
To do this, Samsung will opt for a “home” button dematerialized inserted under the glass slab, a bit like the touch screen in the iPhone 7, with the difference that the latter is not located directly under the glass, but in a separate part of the phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 postponed ?
Bloomberg, who also confirms the adoption by Samsung of an OLED screen as well as the generalization of curved screens such as those on board of the model “Edge” of its s6 and s7, however, seems to have a bad news for fans of the brand. Samsung could delay the commercialization of its new smartphone.
The group still aims to launch on the market in march 2017 after a presentation in the beginning of the year, but the explosions of the Galaxy Note 7, and the default would come from the design, would lead Samsung to perform tests of resistance further, in order to avoid the same pitfall. The reminder of the Galaxy Note 7 and the losses related to the event is estimated at around $ 6 billion for the group.
