Google integrates tweets to its computer search results – Le Figaro

Google and Twitter team up to better reference the messages posted on the social network. An operation that could be life-saving for the last, which is struggling to attract new users.

Twitter clings to Google. The American social network and the Internet giant announced Friday, August 21 the extension of a partnership announced last February and launched a few months ago. Since May, on mobile interfaces, tweets appear in search engine results. So is now the same for the research done from a desktop computer, and worldwide. The two companies confirmed the announcement in an exchange of messages posted on Twitter Friday.

“Heytwitter, party for research here. Visit desktops? “

” No problem, they bring the tweets. “

Ardan Arac, Chief product at Google, said in May that this partnership will allow the search engine to provide its users increasingly relevant results, relaying information in real time. A similar operation was conducted between 2009 and 2011, but had not been renewed.

Since 2009, Twitter also has a similar agreement with Bing !, Microsoft’s search engine competitor to Google. This new visibility could be saving for the social network, which is struggling to develop its hearing. Last July, Twitter published its quarterly results, and its chief financial officer Anthony Noto admitted that the growth in the number of utilsiateurs could not be done without the benefit of the general public. According to him, it would take “considerable time.” The company is still at a loss: last week, Twitter went down for the first time below its IPO price on the stock exchange in New York.
