Twitter announced the end of the limit of 140 characters to private messages – The World

Twitter offices in San Francisco.

Twitter announced the end of a symbolic fence. The social network said Wednesday, August 12 that private messages are no longer limited to 140 characters. A rule which applies, however, always to tweets. Now it will be possible to discuss privately without simply send several pieces of sentence following which might sometimes intersect. These changes will apply to applications Android, iOS, Web site and Tweetdeck.

This change was announced for the first time in early June. This is not the first change to the private messaging, the ability to share images and arrived late in January, a group discussion feature was introduced.
