Music loyalty Apple says 79% of its users – 01net

About 21% of people who tested the Apple’s online music service since its launch in late June will increasingly serve, according to data provided by the US computer group in response to a study suggesting a rate ‘significantly higher abandonment.

“79% of people who have registered for a test using the service” reported on Wednesday a brand spokesman at the apple to AFP.

MusicWatch specialized research company had delivered the day before a more pessimistic estimate: based on a survey of 5,000 people in the United States, he estimated that 48% of consumers who tried Apple Music had stopped using them.

MusicWatch estimated 28% share of paying subscribers European competitor Spotify service, which also used Apple Music. Based on the number of users of the free service (with commercial breaks) Swedish service and that rate falls to 11%. And it is 6% for American listeners online radio Pandora.

Apple Music was launched on 30 June. Users benefit from a three-month trial period, after which they will have to subscribe to 9.99 dollars a month. A US group, Eddy Cue, had said in early August in an interview with USA Today that the service had yet 11 million users.

Apple has a strong presence in purchasing downloadable music on the Internet through its online store iTunes. But consumers are converting increasingly to streaming, where Apple has taken the opposite delay other players, starting with the world’s leading Spotify which claims 75 million users, including 20 million for its paid version.
