BlackBerry returns with a top-end smartphone, and rather affordable : the DTEK60 – 01net.com

The DTEK60 will he address the frustration felt during the test of the DTEK50 ? On paper, the answer seems to be positive both the technical data sheet of this new model is eyeing the top of the range. Manufactured by TCL (the parent company of Alcatel), it sports a large Amoled screen QHD 5.5-inch and a photo sensor of 21 megapixels. In façade, it is a sensor of 8 megapixel camera that has been chosen and it is even accompanied by a flash for selfies. For the design, BlackBerry has been the choice of the glass.

The set is powered by a powerful processor and latest generation of the Snapdragon 820 coupled with 4 Gb of ram. The included battery has reached a capacity of 3 000 mAh and it has a quick charge (20 minutes, only to recover 80 % battery life). There is also space for the internal storage of 32 Gb, expandable by microSD card up to 2 Tb.

The DTEK60 will be marketed as Android 6, but an update to Nougat is being finalized, it will also be deployed on the DTEK50.

It may seem surprising that BlackBerry launches a new smartphone just weeks after it announced to stop making devices. But this model out of strings that TCL is the first step of this transition. The DTEK60 is available today on the online store of BlackBerry at a price of 579 euros. A very reasonable rate compared to its configuration that meets the current standards of high-end models.
