The smartphone payment service Pay Apple launched Tuesday in France – L’Obs

the apple brand announced Tuesday the launch its smartphone payment service Apple pay in France. The application allows to pay with an iPhone or an iPad at merchants. It should also soon be possible to pay with Apple Watch shows.

The launch of this service in the hexagon is made with BPCE and Carrefour. Apple Pay payment is possible in hypermarkets and supermarkets French distributor since Tuesday. The BPCE banking group also offers Apple Pay customers Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne equipped with Visa cards.

When paying via Apple Pay, the NFC antenna (Near Field Communication) Integrated the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone OS or iPad to communicate with the merchant contactless reader. To confirm the payment, the iPhone owner must use the “Touch ID” function by placing his finger on his phone that recognizes their fingerprint.

Apple specifies that a unique number is assigned to each transaction and credit card information is not stored on the devices or servers.

the American giant has already launched this service in several countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, the United -um and February in China. In France, payment by smartphone is still not widespread, the credit card is for the well established now.
