Reduce Web page load time on mobile advertising revenue to increase
In order to increase advertising revenues that go through the hearing they produce through their web pages, Apple, Google and Facebook want to reduce the loading time of web pages on smartphones. On average, one page takes eight seconds to be displayed, an estimated time too long, which scares some mobile users who do not expect that the Web page is loaded, and go see other content.
This period of 8 seconds is a significant obstacle to the development of the hearing on mobile devices. So Google has launched the AMP project in partnership with the Web and media groups companies. Google announced last October 7 launch of the open source project Acceleratde Mobile Pages, to reduce the display of Web pages using a technical change leading to a better page loading.
This new format called HTML AMP will help to ease the burden of a page. The search engine will store the pages on its servers at AMP formats allowing users to view content more quickly. This new format can be used by everyone, being open source and Google signed a thirty agreements with content providers, including Pinterest, Twitter or LinkedIn. At the media level, the US group has signed partnerships with the New York Times, The Guardian or The Wall Street Journal.
Keep mobile users longer on their respective platforms
Google has chosen to propose a technical solution to improve the loading of Web pages on mobile devices. In turn, Apple and Facebook have opted to become content aggregators. The two groups will directly host the content on a single application, called “News” for Apple and “Instant items” for the social network Mark Zuckerberg. The advantage for both groups is to allow the mobile user to access all the content partners, without having to exit the application, and having to go to the competition, including the search engine Google . Facebook Announces load time ten times faster Web pages. A technique used by Apple and Facebook to keep users longer on their sites, allowing both groups to monetize their platform using the collected data and advertising.
