reminder, 4G or mobile broadband, is split into categories. The most common, to date is probably the category 4. Widely disseminated, including through the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 series, it allows you to surf with a theoretical throughput of 150 Mb / s using a single tape frequencies. This is, however, not the “real” 4G. Indeed, in principle, the fourth generation of mobile networks should start with the introduction of a technology called LTE-Advanced, which is based on the aggregation of multiple streams from multiple frequency bands. In France, this is what our operators called 4G +, which can be commonly referred to as 4G name Category 6 and offers speeds in excess of 200 Mb / s.
Here, Monaco Telecom already offers 4G Class 6. What the operator controlled by Xavier Niel ad is opening its network “4G ++” or LTE-Advanced class 9. This technology achieves theoretical speeds of 450 Mb / s is based in this case on the use of three frequency bands of 20 MHz (800 MHz x 1, 2 x 2.6 GHz). Establishment in collaboration with Huawei – which thus take this opportunity to get their hands on technology made to be deployed everywhere in the months and years to come – it is integrated into existing packages at no extra cost
Remember that in France, Bouygues Telecom has already taken advantage of the width of its spectrum to provide 4G class 9. This, however, remained confined to the local level, with a city of Chartres acting as a technical demonstration. The opening of a national network “4G ++” was nevertheless announced for the fourth quarter of 2015.
