Windows 10 : images of the new interface Neon – ZDNet France

We know that Microsoft has been working for several months on a refresh of the graphics of Windows 10 and the design of native applications. Microsoft had already had a similar approach a few years ago with its Metro interface, which was quickly changed to the Microsoft Design Language, a graphic charter which aims to harmonise the interfaces on Windows.

This work continues, therefore, known under the code name project Neon, it would take the suite of Microsoft Design Language 2 and to unify the interface of different versions of Windows 10. Few details are currently known, but the emphasis will be placed on the transitions and animations of this new interface.

The new project Neon is not expected to bring a major revolution in the interface compared to the style of the Microsoft Design Language 2, but Microsoft intends to correct the defects and inconsistencies of its graphic charter in order to make it better adapted to the ecosystem Windows 10. This new interface should see the light of day in 2017 on the occasion of the launch of the update Redstone 3, planned for autumn 2017.

the first images of native applications journals, have, nevertheless, leaked on MSPoweruser. We note the effects of transparency (Acrylic), blurring from the legacy Aero of Windows 7 and animations seen in the OS Windows Phone.

The shots show and the new Music app and the redesign of Outlook Mail which exploit these effects. There is nothing to say that these works are definitive but they give an idea of the philosophy chart of the future Windows 10, which clearly intend to be homogeneous.

the users of The program Windows Insider should as usual be among the first to benefit from these changes around the month of April 2017. This update will initially be restricted to Microsoft applications, before being open to third-party developers from the update Redstone 4 scheduled for 2018, says Windows Central.
