4G: the allocation of the 700 MHz band will be auctioned … – France Mobiles

While in the seminary of the Higher Audiovisual Council (CSA), François Hollande announced that the 700 MHz band will indeed be allocated to operators. If the date of this auction is not yet defined, we know that it will take place in 2015.

This ad is not well received by the audiovisual industry would have preferred to use these frequencies to improve the quality of DTT services. While this announcement is good news for the telecom market, the decision of the state to set up the auction next year is not the best scenario for the operators.

For its part, the State relies on this auction to bail out. Income that could generate this auction have already been considered for finance 2015 The State expects to earn up to 3 billion euros with the spectrum of 96 MHz.

This frequency provides many benefits for the audiovisual industry and telecoms. Indeed, the frequency of 700 MHz is highly sought after because it is more powerful. The higher the frequency, the lower extension signal is extended without the need for antennas. Moreover, these frequencies pass more easily through the buildings. They will certainly be used for mobile broadband.

The transfer of the 700 MHz band in the telecom sector will not happen only in France, ellle will also be extended across Europe. However, the state must provide a schedule for the auction of the 700 MHz band.
