Sony has just released its detailed specifications PS4 Pro, codenamed CUH -7000. The console will always use a Jaguar CPU architecture AMD to 8 cores and a GPU from the same manufacturer, but more than double its computing power. As expected, the PS4 Pro will benefit from a capacity of 4.2 TFLOPS, against only 1.84 TFLOPS for classical PS4. The console is equipped with 8 GB of GDDR5 and a hard drive of 1TB. Connectivity, the PS4 Pro offers 3 USB 3.1 (two front, one rear), an auxiliary port, a port Ethernet-compatible HDMI 4K / HDR and an optical output. Wi-Fi a / b / g / n / ac and Bluetooth 4.0 LE are also scheduled. The console measuring 327 x 295 x 55 mm and weighs about 3.3 kilograms. The maximum consumption is 310 W. Grand absent from the data sheet, the Ultra HD Blu-ray player will obviously exclusive to Xbox One S in the middle of the home consoles.

turn first to the essential: the PS4 Pro will be available in France from November 10, priced at € 399. A now close enough rate that the PS4 “classic” (€ 349). The latter will suddenly go to 299 €, from 15 September. For the occasion, the PlayStation 4 to version “slim” and becomes more compact and more energy efficient. Before getting into the thick of things, Sony has insisted that all future games will be compatible with both machines. – And therefore with the first PS4

real expectation that Sony conference was therefore the presentation of the PS4 Pro, a machine that highlights the Ultra HD content, as we talk about video games, movies or series. During the hour of presentation, many publishers took the stage to prove that their future hits will be the most beautiful on the “new” Japanese console giant.

For now, the technical details are very rare and we especially know that the console benefits from a faster processor, a more powerful GPU, but also a hard drive 1 TB. the company also highlighted the “HDR” in play, to boost colorimetry and light effects, not to mention the PlayStation VR. The virtual reality headset – whose sales are due on October 13 – and benefit from the PS4 Pro, either to improve the rendering games or to increase the number of frames per second. Note that the HDR functions will also be available on the PlayStation 4, via a simple software update.

Finally, the “PlayStation Meeting” – ultimately quite short – was the opportunity to discover some previously unseen footage of upcoming games, graphically improved by the PS4 Pro. It was thus possible to admire images of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare , Horizon Zero Dawn (screenshot above), or – O surprise – a real sequence of gameplay Mass Effect Andromeda , the highly anticipated space opera / RPG Bioware , and who had shown so far extremely discreet. If the PS4 Pro seems, on paper, close enough to the Xbox One S, it nevertheless offers a much higher power (see update in early news specifications) and also offers playback of content 4K / UHD. However, no drive integrated Blu-ray HD Ultra, which is surprising in so far as it is Sony who originally pushed this format. Sony, however, seems to have joined the cause of many developers, willing to optimize their games for this new machine.
