Microsoft celebrates its 40 years of existence – Gridam

Microsoft has just turned 40 history. Back on the successes and failures of the American firm.

There are forty, April 4, 1975, Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft. At first, small business Albuquerque (New Mexico) developed and sold a new version of the BASIC language. At that time, neither Gates nor Allen knew they had just launched what was to become one of the largest high-tech companies in the world.

Initially, the company name was Micro- Soft, Bill Gates and Paul Allen agreed to remove the dash.

During the last 40 years, the company has had many successes with MS-DOS and OS that everyone knows: Windows. The first version was launched in 1985 and new versions will follow over the years. This is also because of this operating system Apple has attacked Microsoft to court for plagiarism. However, the trial has been permanently lost by the Apple brand in 1994.

During those years, Microsoft has also extended its range of software offering since 1987 PowerPoint presentation software. Others will follow like Office, Encarta, Money or Flight Simulator.

Despite its successes, the Redmond company has also suffered setbacks. Include Windows Me, Windows 2000 and Vista in late 2006, heavy and unstable.

But Microsoft is also game consoles, with the launch in 2001 in the United States to the Xbox. The firm has also addressed to mobile phones and tablets, while also developing the Windows Phone OS.

Today, Microsoft is looking to the future with Windows 10 should happen this summer. The redemption Lumia also seems to bear fruit since its moving more and more users.
