Pollution: Critical rain on Ségolène Royal – Le Figaro

THE SCAN POLICY – Environmentalists and the Socialist Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, the state will protest refusal to establish alternate circulation to dispel the cloud of fine particles.

The sky darkened for four days by a dense cloud of pollution has not been enough to convince Ségolène Royal to set up alternating traffic Friday in Paris . On the eve of the departmental elections, the Minister of Ecology refused the request of the Socialist Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo.

An end of inadmissibility that has outraged the former Minister ecologist, Cécile Duflot. “There are those who understand and those who do not understand the gravity of the situation,” says Cécile Duflot, invited Friday in Europe 1. For the former minister, traffic is “not a whim” but “a matter of public health useful and even essential.” The ecologist recalls that such a device had already been put in place last year. “The alternating traffic has shown its effectiveness” says Cécile Duflot denounces “a mistake, incomprehensible and appalling” Ségolène Royal. This immediately retorted on Twitter at ecologist: “What has been done concrete in the district where she was elected to clean transport every day?”

“The Greens have no environmental protection monopoly”

For the Minister it is “not reasonable to impose so fast that galley to the suburbs” and that ” it is better to “seek first the Parisians to take (the) transport and (of) electric buses.” On BFM-TV, she said: “It would have been an incredible mess, people would not have had time to be prevented.” And slap on EELV: “I do not think that ecology has to be taken hostage by a political party just before the elections. We must respect the people (…) The Greens do not have a monopoly on environmental protection. “

” It’s stifling and Minister look elsewhere “

But critics have increased, especially from elected the capital. “It’s stifling and Minister looks away …” says Christophe Najdovski the EELV Assistant to the Mayor of Paris in charge of Transport.

As elected socialist majority in Paris has multiplied tackles against Ségolène Royal. “The Parisians health is not negotiable. I stand by my request for establishment of alternating traffic, “wrote Anne Hidalgo Thursday night on his Twitter account. “It’s been four days since the city is choking! Unreasonable to remain inactive, “growls Bruno Julliard, the first deputy mayor of the PS Paris

For the UMP, the controversy annoys Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet.” As the mayor of Paris plays his tragicomedy with Minister of Ecology you always lose the same thing time and Parisians life expectancy, “she wrote in a statement
