Redstone new features for Windows 10 set in 2016 – ZDNet France

Brad Sams site Neowin revealed on April 7 the existence of a project at Microsoft whose code name is Redstone. He said it is the next major release of Windows 10. Expected availability: 2016.

According to sources Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet.com, information is confirmed. And Microsoft does not expect to have completed 10 Windows, codenamed “Threshold”, and the output is expected this summer

 According to the same sources, “Threshold” will benefit from a minor update in the fall, so more patches and regular updates of Windows 10. The most significant developments of the OS they are planned for the summer or fall 2016. These updates are grouped under the Redstone code name.

Mary Jo Foley understands that Redstone will not match a new version of Windows itself. No Windows 11 or 12 projected for 2016. These additions to the heart of Windows would fall within the “Windows as a service” provided by Microsoft.

Redstone will be distributed to users as any other update. Only distinguish the size of the others, and therefore the features and support of new terminals that will add to Windows 10.
