iPhone / iPad: more home automation, with the application Home – ZDNet France

Apple intends to strengthen its efforts in home automation and its interactions with its terminals. Recall that during his WWDC 2014, the firm unveiled HomeKit, a network protocol to use its
iOS terminal automation as driver: locking doors, cameras, lighting,
sockets, switches …, combined with third-party accessories.

If last year developers and manufacturers such as Philips and Belkin are working on objects and applications compatible with this platform, it seems that Apple wants to accelerate the movement by offering an application that centralizes the control of these devices. According to the always well informed 9to5mac, the application would simply be called Home, and would be included in iOS 9. It would be unveiled at the next Apple WWDC in June.

First, it would detect and configure compatible accessories, to see the different parts of a home to install the best home automation objects. At the same time, Apple TV could hub office to connect them.

The application could also work in concert with Siri to control with the voice of its automation devices deployed in the home.

The output of this application could then represent the starting signal of Apple in this sector, already some industrial and being ready to launch their products compatible.

Unless some development concerns push Apple to reconsider its copy. According to Fortune
relies on anonymous testimonies of participants HomeKit program, the
commissioning could take place in the coming year. Apple has encountered difficulties in the development of the code, more
specifically the part managing the connection and networking
devices that mobilizes too much memory.

a statement echoed by Fortune, a spokesman for Apple ensures that there
will be many compatible products starting next month.
