Mobile operators threaten Google by blocking its … – Actualitté.com

According to the Financial Times of European mobile operators are now putting in place a means of pressure on Google so that it shares a portion of their advertising revenues. This would in their view a legitimate counterpart of the profit that the search engine operator withdraws networks that are set up and financed solely by the telecommunications operators.

To give Google, operators are working to incorporate a tool to block the bulk of online advertising. This would activate adblock ultimately by users on their mobile devices.

However, it is not certain that this is the right solution. Google could indeed go to court by invoking the neutrality rules to be applied on the Internet. Free had made a first attempt to face Google in January 2013, but he quickly backtracked.
