Android: Smart Lock On-body detection – Generation NT

For Android 5.0+, users began to report the occurrence of an “On-body detection” deployed by Google as part of Google Play Services. . A deployment for progressive moment that introduces the intelligent lock operator accelerometer device

Once an unlocked device, this mode will maintain this state as long as the smartphone – or tablet – is transported (or maintained) by a person. Access is easy, without having to re-enter a PIN (or schema).

When the terminal is placed on a table or other surface, locking again comes into action. This is a way to more practical side to result in poor security.

A note warns that if a device is unlocked and passed to someone else, it will remain unlocked As the person continues to carry. There is obviously no detection of the identity of the wearer since everything is based on the accelerometer.

As On- body detection is an option, it will be for everyone (when the deployment has grown) to assess whether or not relevant. For Android 5.0+ devices and for some, this option is in addition to Smart Lock. This automatic unlocking a device can ensure that the device remains unlocked when connecting a reliable Bluetooth device, based on a location in a place of trust, with face recognition.

Remember that with Android 5.1 by aileurs (not from Android 5.0 this time), Google launched Device protection for lost or stolen devices. These will be unusable even with the restoration of the factory settings. After reset, the user name of entry and the password associated with the Google device is required.
