CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida (Reuters) – Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka returned to Earth on Saturday with his luggage in the record for the number of days spent by a man in space, or 879

. Aged 57, Gennady Padalka completed his fifth space flight, he had started in March, when his Soyuz capsule landed at 8:51 p.m. local time Friday (0:51 GMT Saturday) southeast of Djezkazgan in the Kazakh Steppe after leaving the International Space Station (ISS) at 17h39 (9:39 p.m. GMT).

He was accompanied by two cosmonauts beginners, Kazakh Aidyn Aimbetov and the Dane Andreas Mogensen, who have spent for their share only ten days in orbit.
