Since the launch of its operating system for smartphones, Microsoft has never been able to truly achieve critical mass. Mobile with Windows 10 and the concept of universal application, the publisher hopes to reverse the trend

But, however, one factor remains as important. That develops a market volume Smartphones Windows, Microsoft can not rely solely on Lumia devices. So what about the partners for Windows 10 Mobile.

A smartphone “affordable”

The Redmond can (now) rely on Alcatel OneTouch Chinese , a manufacturer of entry-level smartphones including the latest models with Android (Idol 3) are positively welcomed by the specialized press.

Steve Cistulli, vice president of Alcatel OneTouch for North America confirmed partially leaks Evleaks on Twitter. The latter announced the release in December of Fierce XL, a Windows smartphone.

Alcatel OneTouch will launch before the end of the year, a smartphone running the new mobile platform from Microsoft. “We strongly support the Windows ecosystem,” said Steve Cistulli. The Chinese manufacturer promises a Windows terminal 10 at an affordable price. A new support then? Not really, since Alcatel OneTouch had already stated floor on Windows 10 at the MWC 2015.

But Microsoft will need many other manufacturers to support the development of its OS on the market mobile telephony, a sector where it conducted two consecutive years in major restructuring.

Mobile Windows 10 still developing

The wait for Manufacturers may be justified, however. On the one hand, Windows Phone has so far been drilled in the world, and only locally in some countries. Other hand, Windows 10 Mobile is still not finalized.

For now, Microsoft is benefiting, in particular, Alcatel OneTouch, and Acer Archos, none are among the leading manufacturers of smartphones. Lenovo was to launch its range of WP in China, but finally the project is frozen. And if a market downturn and right marked by strong competition in the entry-level (Android), the OS was an opportunity for manufacturers to differentiate themselves? It remains to see.
