Google is back. The American giant of the Web Tuesday night held an event dedicated to Nexus, its mobile range, and Android, its mobile operating system.
● Two new Nexus smartphones
Google introduced two smartphones Tuesday night. One of them, called “Nexus 5X” is in collaboration with the South Korean manufacturer LG, already causing the Nexus 4 and 5. For the second model, the “Nexus 6P ‘s Google is associated with the manufacturer Huawei. This smartphone has a large screen of 5.7 inches diagonal (14.5 centimeters). This is the first time that Google is working with a Chinese company. The latest model of the Nexus, the Nexus 6, was produced by Motorola. The company, owned by Google between 2012 and 2014, has since been sold to Chinese manufacturer Lenovo.
● A new version of Android
Both new Nexus smartphones are equipped with Android Marshmallow, the latest mobile operating system from Google. Among its new features, the software is able to manage the fingerprint readers, a very popular feature of smartphone manufacturers. Marshmallow Android will be available for all recent Android smartphones next week.
● A Chromecast for audio
Google also presented Tuesday night a new version of Chromecast. Launched in 2013, this small USB key plugs into the television and allows you to easily distribute online content, eg a YouTube video or Deezer playlist. Google has sold 20 million worldwide. Tuesday night, he also unveiled a new Chromecast dedicated to music, which plugs directly into an enclosure. In France, these new products will be sold at 39 € at FNAC, Darty, Boulanger and Saturn.
● A tablet for professionals
More surprisingly, Google took this conference unveiled a new tablet. Dubbed Pixel C, it belongs to the pixel range, which meant far laptops. The device has a removable keyboard to seduce a professional clientele, like the Microsoft Surface tablet or iPad Pro, presented by Apple in September.
