Office 2016 for Windows – New products (and those to come) – ZDNet France

 Microsoft France.

Office 2016 therefore includes the latest versions of client software Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Project, Visio and Access. This new version is an extension of Office 2013 with few major innovations in the end. In Office 2016, Microsoft initially focuses on collaborative features. Among the new note to therefore co-creation in Word, PowerPoint and OneNote; real-time input of Word; Power BI extended Excel integration, and search and navigation features updates in Outlook.

Office 365 subscribers, individuals and businesses with access to Office apps will receive functional upgrades, including Microsoft Sway, an application of “virtual storytelling” to create and share interactive documents.

As is the case with Windows 10, Microsoft plans to complete the Office 2016 features through regular updates aired during the coming months. The publisher develops and always improved synchronization client for its onedrive storage service. The new Windows and Mac clients are expected by the end of the year. Co-creation, integrated with Word, will also be extended to other Office apps, 2016. Finally, the safety function Enterprise Data Protection, promised for Windows 10, will also integrate Office 2016 for Windows early 2016 and of Office Mobile apps by the end of 2015.

From this version of Office, Microsoft will also incorporate the update scheme, “branches “Windows 10 with the possibility for business, for example, to install only the patches, or defer the deployment of functional enhancements.

The Office 2016 software are available 40 languages. Office 365 subscribers can choose from manually download now the new Office software clients as part of their subscription. Automatic update for individuals and small business subscribers will begin in October and early 2016 for other professional customers.

Buying a perpetual license of Office 2016 for PC and Mac is also possible from today (not in hand at the Microsoft Store which French publisher still has the 2013 Office).

The price: Office 2016 permanent license for PC or Mac is announced at $ 149 in Family and Student edition, 229 dollars for Office Home and Small Enterprise and finally $ 399 for Office Pro. Euro prices are likely formalized tomorrow. They should at least be equivalent to those in dollars, that is to say from 149 euros.

Update: a spokesperson for Microsoft said that the MSDN subscribers will have access to Office 2016 for Mac and Windows today 22 September. For volume license customers in (via the Volume Licensing Service Center) announced the availability is October 1 for Windows (for Mac, it is effective since August).

Office 365 Planner , light project management services (eg, code-named “Highlander”), that integrates with Microsoft Office 365 Enterprise subscriptions will be available in prerelease for customers “Office 365 First Release” starting next quarter. And GigJam, presented at the beginning of the summer, it will enter private beta today and will be available in 2016 for the pros Office clients 365.
