beaten Record. Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka returned to Earth, Saturday, September 12, in his luggage with the record number of days spent by a man in space, or 879.

At the age of 57 years, Gennady Padalka completed his fifth space flight, he had started in March, when his Soyuz capsule landed at 20 h 51 local time Friday (00 h 51 GMT Saturday) southeast of Djezkazgan in the Kazakh Steppe after left the International Space Station (ISS) at 17 h 39 (21 h 39 GMT).

He was accompanied by two cosmonauts beginners, Kazakh Aidyn Aimbetov and the Dane Andreas Mogensen, who have not passed for them only ten days in orbit.

Gennady Padalka conducted its first mission aboard the Mir space station before completing four missions as the ISS commander. It beats the previous record set by compatriot Sergei Krikalev, which amounted to 803 days.
