Nintendo appoints new CEO – The Point

The Japanese video game pioneer, Nintendo, announced Monday the appointment of a new CEO, Tatsumi Kimishima, a man of the house, to replace Satoru Iwata, who died suddenly in July. Tatsumi Kimishima, currently a director and head of several divisions, including human resources, assume his new position on September 16, said the Kyoto company (West) in a brief statement.

“We would like to strengthen the structure of the group management after the disappearance of Satoru Iwata on July 11, on the occasion of a major reorganization, “said the group. Satoru Iwata has died at the age of 55, victim of cancer. He was considered a genius developer joined Nintendo in 2000 and headed the firm since 2002, exceptional meteoric rise in a Japanese company. He had given a new impetus to the century-old house with such emblematic DS consoles that ranges (laptops) and Wii (living models).
