Intel Compute Card : a powerful PC the size of a credit card – ZDNet France

This is not the first time that Intel is working on the concept of mini-PC. In 2015, the foundry introduced its Compute Stick, a full PC that fits in the pocket (10 inches long).

the shape of a big USB key, it contains a complete configuration and plugs into any monitor or TV with a HDMI socket. This mini-PC is powered by an Intel Atom processor Bay Trail quad-core processor clocked at 1.33 GHz but can reach up to 1.83 GHz.

today, the foundry goes further by presenting at the ces in Las Vegas the concept of the Intel Compute Card, which takes the form of a credit card. And in a size of 5 mm thick, 55 mm wide and 94 mm in length, there is a processor Kaby Lake, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, RAM, flash storage and even a small graphics chip. Everything connects in USB-C.

Intel-this product is not like a PC booster (like the Compute Stick), but as a support product for other devices, including connected. A bit like a motherboard, scalable, which would be proposed to industrial partners, we can think of manufacturers of television, home appliances.

The Intel Compute Card should be marketed in the month of June with a number of configurations. Prices have not been disclosed.
