THESE 2017 : all to the side of the French Tech ! Circus policy in Las Vegas – The Obs

-crossover droll of the French political left and right, Thursday, 5 January, at ces in Las Vegas. World Mecca of innovation has become THE place where the present and future leaders of public policy must show, to prove that they understand and have mastered the world of tomorrow.

where the note a little cynical of this framework of a large French group :

“For our policies, ‘consumer’ is interesting, ‘show it is all good, but ‘electronic’… it is not always so !”

While a contractor for the sector laments :

“It is a pity, it takes two years to explain the strategic importance of digital. And when they are finally to the point, it is necessary to start again with the following…”

The event is in all cases particularly favourable to a large exposure to the media, to the extent that newspapers, radio and tv channels French are over-represented, in the wake of the French Tech all-conquering (the third national delegation in number, behind the United States and China, with 275 companies, of which 233 start-ups).

THESE 2016 had been marked by the triumphal visit of Emmanuel Macron. Having nothing more to prove on the plan of its interest to the numerical, the former tenant of Bercy, darling of start-uppers and now candidate to the Elysee, abstained this year.

show up with the French Tech

THESE 2017 on the other hand has hosted four heavy weights of the political landscape hex. Side socialist, the minister of Economy and Finance Michel Sapin and his secretary of State in charge of Digital and Innovation Axelle Lemaire. Side The Republicans, the winner of the primary of the right and of the centre François Fillon, and former secretary of State’s Digital government Sarkozy, Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet. Laurent Wauquiez was also of the party, as the president of the region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpe.

Each camp has been to meet young entrepreneurs and managers of large French groups, appeal to the “influencers” american… and give a speech geek.

French prime minister François Fillon was supported, to prepare for his visit, on the consultant, Xavier Dalloz. And the agendas of the two camps had apparently been arranged… so they do not intersect. The ministers ended their day with a reception Orange, while Fillon & Co opted for an evening Medef/Alliance française of digital.

“Politic circus”

The journalists, themselves, have spent the day running around, from stand to stand, after the one and the other. But microphones and cameras were noticeably more numerous around François Fillon, that of the rulers.

In the wake of the candidate of the right, NKM, it multiplies the interviews, explaining :

“La French Tech has been able to generate start-ups, it’s true. But this is not enough : to make them grow, we need reforms on taxation, the labour market and regulation.”

And the professionals attending this “politic circus” snicker on his way to place thus, ostensibly, as a future-ministrable.

christmas Tree was a little difficult to follow

during the press breakfast, Axelle Lemaire plays lucidity :

“As this is probably our last of THESE, it is the day of reckoning !”

She argued that the range of measures pro-innovation of the quinquennium Holland : the ecosystem of French Tech, the creation of Bpifrance, the public agency for the financing of enterprises, from the Alliance for open innovation, or his recent “act for a Republic digital.”

Afflicted with a bad bronchitis but nevertheless combative, they tackle the passage François Fillon, “which the government wanted to privatize Oséo !” – since integrated in Bpifrance.

As for Michel Sapin, the digital is not exactly the cup of tea (it was a little difficult to follow the development of his secretary of State on “the confinement of an algorithm which feeds the phenomenon of fake news), he rejoiced in “the reality of the enthusiasm and the strength” of the French presence in THESE.

“we must do away with the clichés, explaining that our country is afraid of the risk, or that all young people want to become civil servants : today, France is among the top three in the world in the field of start-ups !”

Our policy has made the France competitive and attractive for innovation, while preserving its social model, insists the boss of Bercy in front of the professionals.

“I am a practitioner of long standing,” says Fillon

not enough, replied in substance French prime minister François Fillon, in a speech of the end of the day, listened with attention to religious – despite an hour and a half of delay, by a room packed full of French professionals.

“This shift to digital makes it even more urgent for the structural handicaps of our country, which does not have the agility and freedom of action necessary to be, certainly, among the winners of this revolution.”

And the candidate LR to the presidency promising a “powerful transformation”, with “actions taken prior to the end of 2017″ to make our start-ups of the “unicorns” (start-ups valued at over a billion dollars).

bulk : removal of the ISF tax relief for investment in businesses, flat tax of 30% on capital income, a policy for public orders to small businesses. Or project of sovereignty, european digital, so that we become not the “colonies” of large u.s. companies.

a Highly acclaimed, François Fillon also promises, concerning the labour market, “the creation of a status of an independent contractor, who will have the opportunity to contract for a term of three years, without the possibility for the labour inspectorate to reclassify these contracts in contract work”.

Annoyed at the idea of being suspected, by some, of a run about this topic after Emmanuel Macron, French prime minister François Fillon claims from the outset his legitimacy numeric :

“I am not come to THESE to sacrifice to fashion, but because I am convinced for a very long time that the future of our societies is written for a hand here, with you.

there are a lot of new converts to the digital revolution… I am a practitioner of long-standing [...] I sensed the importance of the internet, when others were only seeing a gadget ephemeral. [sic]“

And it does not deprive this about a kick in the ass for the socialists :

“In 1995, I claim to have opened telecommunications to competition, battling hard against those who, often today, give lessons of modernity.”
