National failure in the fixed network of Bouygues Telecom (MAJ) – ZDNet France

This Thursday evening at 18.30 as the fixed network Bouygues Telecom fell, denying Internet access subscribers. And as usual, those who tried to reboot their boxes lost in the wake of television.

The operator reacted quickly to 19h indicating on Twitter “that his teams are on deck” to solve these “connection problems”. Questioned by AFP, Bouygues Telecom points to “a problem on the network”, causing “a national Internet station” without knowing “where it comes from.”

By mid-evening, the operator indicates, again on Twitter, that “the failure is resolved” and “that the service was gradually returning to normal.” And to apologize for “the early evening missed.” Still no explanation, however, apart from the possibility of an “equipment failure” whose origin was always sought. Some observers suggest the famous and classic DNS problem.

Update at 11:30 : On Twitter, BouyguesTel says: “The team goes to the goal, we are seeing a gradual return to normal from 11H”.
