After Volkswagen, Samsung would he cheated on his test TVs? – L’Express

After the German Volkswagen and its 11 million vehicles capable of distorting the results of emission tests. Could it now be a Samsung case? According to the revelations of the British newspaper The Guardian , a group of co-funded by the European Union Research estimates that televisions of the South Korean group, sold in Europe, less energy during testing before the placing on the market only when used by consumers.

Televisions tests can detect situations?

This is a technology called “motion lighting” which is in the viewfinder of the laboratory ComplianTV specialized in the study of energy efficiencies televisions. This offers the possibility to reduce the brightness of the screen, which has the direct effect of reducing the energy consumption during official tests. The authors of the study believe that this is a “manipulator” that does not reduce the actual energy consumption, once the television in homes.

Samsung quickly denied and rejected any idea “of a possible comparison” with the Volkswagen scandal. “The motion is not lighting a special option that would activate only during compliance testing.” The European Commission, she promised to look more closely at the springs of the tests which are the subject of Samsung televisions and those of its competitors. New standards would take effect in June 2016.
