Quick access to voice search

On the lock screen, rapid access to the dialer has been replaced by a shortcut that opens directly Voice Search. This discrete change is particularly relevant on the shelves, but also responds to a more modern use of phones. The keypad is generally available from the Home screen and serves only slightly compared to the directory. Voice search is itself of increasingly used

.

Fast & amp settings; Sound management

Enabling (GPS) finds its way to the Quick Settings menu, as well as the “Do not disturb” which are the first steps here. The latter replaces the “Priority” initiated in Lollipop, speaking little enough for most users. In addition, its positioning in fast settings makes it more convenient and avoids inadvertently activate the “none” option which cut the receipt of any notification, including alarms, which certainly caused more of a delay .

Sound management has also been simplified and improved. Now it is possible to place the popup for independently adjusting the volume of the ringer, notifications and alarms. The “Do not disturb” is activated in turn lowering the sound when it is already at a minimum.

Personalization by System UI Tuner

Leaving his finger pressed the button settings in the notification bar, it is possible to unlock a new menu called” System UI Tuner “. This is where we will access the quick settings changes, management of the status bar or integration of the percentage in the battery icon in the notifications. The latter remains very discreet and not easily discernible.

Application Management and Permissions

One of the great innovations of Marshmallow is the management of applications. For starters, the application drawer is now positioned vertically, topped with a selection of recently used applications. A search field is now present, and the scroll bar displays a letter better be in the list.

The application menu has been simplified with Marshmallow and now has a new section entitled “Permitted. apps. ” As its name suggests, it can manage a case by case the permissions for each application.

Management widgets

As with the application drawer, managing widgets now goes vertical scrolling with a scroll bar showing the alphabet. Each application is entitled to his own line and more clearly displaying the different widgets available.

The new file browser

Often integrated in the form of third-party application in overcoats manufacturers, File Explorer has made its appearance in Android Stock. Its use is not however more ergonomic since it must pass through the settings, the “USB Storage” tab and the “Explorer.” If the feature is welcome, hide it in this way was not the best idea to Google

An overview of the RAM

In the settings Android now displays a new option named Memory. This allows a glimpse of the RAM used for each running application, and forcibly stop some of them to free up RAM space. Since the “Applications” tab, each app now displays the average memory usage, a good way to locate one that makes your rowing terminal to find an alternative.

The removal of screenshots

Is this ever happened to you to take a screenshot inadvertently or find out that the capture of screen you just made is missed or unnecessary? If this is the case, then you know to remove it, it is necessary to launch an application gallery, to find the image in question and delete it. Tedious path that deserved to be simplified. With Android 6.0 Marshmallow, reporting a screenshot offer two proposals: … share the file or delete it. This is perhaps a detail for you, but for us – who do many screenshots as part of our articles – it means a lot

Contactless Payment and security fingerprint

When initializing your terminal, you Marshmallow ask your blue card number. No, the system does not become limited, this is the way you set foot in the stirrup to move to contactless payment. This option is optional safe and can be activated in the future in Android options. Indeed, the service is still unavailable in France. Moreover, Android 6.0 also runs natively fingerprints to secure these payments, but this feature is currently reserved for Nexus 5X and 6P, Nexus only ones with the necessary scanner.

Now on Tap

Now on Tap is considered by many as the” killer app “for Android Marshmallow 6.0. This enhanced version of Google Now provides access to relevant information at any time. Start discuss a good restaurant with a friend on Hangouts, leave your finger on the touch home button and a window will appear to give you the address, opening hours or users of the notes. At least if you use the English system, since Now on Tap is not yet available to us. If the language of Shakespeare is not an ordeal for you, feel free to change the language of your system to have a look at this feature.

The budding archaeologists will dig this new version more Android. They will discover certainly other significant details, like the notifications menu, which now falls under the finger on tablets rather than the center of the screen or battery consumption of each application in mAh. It would nevertheless have been difficult to be completely exhaustive …
